More about me

It can feel intimidating to start thearpy.Knowing that I will explain every step of the way and answer all questions can provide a sense ofย  relief. I love seeing therapy as a preventative service and not just in need of crisis. Time to learn about yourself, time to unwind and learn how to be kind(er) to yourself and learning new ways or healthier ways to cope with life. Here are a few facts about me in hopes that you see me as human as you.

Where were you born?

I was born in Mexico City, a country that is rich in history, food, colors and life. I visit often and it still feels like home to me. Raised in Tejas, I am fluent in English and Spanish and know all about the experiences of immigrants, far too well

What makes you stand out?

I am a firm believer of treating everyone with dignity and respect. I have a passion for what I do and I strive that you notice it in our work. I prepare for our sessions with delicacy and fierceness. I advocate for social justice and am a believer that not speaking of the systems that are fragmented and or ways there is oppression is a disservice and a step back.

Why did you decide to be a counselor/therapist?

English is my second language but the language of my heart in Spanish. Growing up as a translator for my parents and being inspired by an AP Psychology class in high school, set me on a path to a highly impactful career. My bilingual and bicultural ability is an especially valuable asset in the service field, allowing me to connect with diverse populations and increase access to vital support.

How does Claudia care for self?

I enjoy sunsets and sunrises, nature is healing and restorative for me. Blowing bubbles or flying kites are ways that I nurture my inner child. A great book, a relaxing candle and or conversation that touches the soul, are all things I engage in frequently. Traveling and learning keeps me young.
